John Vassos, American artist and industrial designer, was a pioneer of the art deco style, creating shapes and designs for radio, television, computer, and broadcasting equipment for nearly four decades. Contempo is credited with launching his career as a modern artist and showcases his geometrical, cubist, and constructivist style, accompanying his wife Ruth Vassos’ textual critique of post-war American society.
