Mid 20th century promotional brochure for a hotel in the New South Wales alpine park region. Kiandra was a mining town and became the birthplace of Australian skiing. The Kiandra Chalet Hotel was originally the town’s second courthouse and police barracks. The police presence left town in 1937 and was used as a private residence until 1953 when it became the Kiandra Chalet. The town was abandoned in the 1970s.
