Australian anthropologist, geologist, politician, and medical practitioner Herbert Basedow (1881-1933), popularised the theory that progressive crossbreeding of Indigenous Australians with Europeans would eliminate all Aboriginal racial characteristics. This ultimately led to the Stolen Generation.
Ex-Australian Army Educational Library stamps. Rebound in red cloth with gilt decoration from original cloth laid on. Frontispiece has been rebound in after the preface. Minor to moderate tanning, foxing, and soiling to edges and interior. Good Condition (ex-library).
