One of the leading controversial works of 1970s gender and sexual liberation by Argentine-German medical doctor turned writer Esther Margareta Vilar (1935-), arguing that women are not oppressed, but rather men are trained and exploited by women. Regardless of Vilar’s intentions it has become a main text of antifeminism and other misogynistic movements. Originally published in German as Der Dressierte Mann this is the first edition in English, translated by Eva Borneman.
